Our branch of the Gibson family came to Texas from Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee, sometime before 1900. William Burrow Gibson and his wife Sarah (Sallie) Bee Abbott Gibson settled in Stamford, Jones County, Texas. They had three sons, William B., Ernie Earl, and Eugene Wilson Gibson.
